1. I left my beloved, not out of boredom,
My heart is ablaze, and my eyes weep for him.

2. That leaving was not out of cruelty,
But he committed a sin that led to the leaving.

3. He wanted a partner in the love between us,
And he tainted the pure truth with doubt.

4. By the grace of God, I am steadfast in monotheism,
And the faith of my heart does not incline towards polytheism.
