1. Let us leave illusions and dreams behind,
For the events of days are a mirage of sleep.

2. And descend with us in the courtyards of the masters of zeal,
The bright-faced leaders of Islam.

3. The family of the Hashimite Prophet Mustafa,
The nobility of existence and elite of the scholars.

4. And upon you, their elders, the family of
The hunter, sun of the Levantine sky.

5. And descend, sanctuary of the ally, the hoped intercessor,
On the day of crisis, for annulment and resolution.

6. The chivalrous youth, the greatest of men,
Of determination, proof, and inspiration.

7. Shibl the Rafai, the leading imam,
For you are the prides, of the sublime position.

8. Vast of arm, my father of the white hand, he from whom,
Deliverance from the adversities of days is hoped.

9. And seek Abu al-Barakat, abundant of bounty,
The flag of glories, choicest of the banners.

10. Beauty of nature, the Sayyid al-Juhhjah, of
The family of the trustee, most devout of the intrepid.

11. The valley of bounties, dawn of the rising sublimity,
Protector of the clan—what a protector indeed!

12. A lion whom, when the battle ignited, held fast,
And there you see the brandishing of swords.

13. Of Arab zeal, Qurashite descent,
Alawite uncles and cousins.

14. A downpour that brings relief to refugees, and the lord
Whose generosity overflowed like a surging sea.

15. And enter the sanctuary of Ali the Sublime, the radiant,
Shaykh of shaykhs, steadfast of foot.

16. Treasure of virtues, crown of the masters of love,
And the brilliant star in every position.

17. My master, if you attend to an event,
You see in him the traits of the noble.

18. A shaykh whose heart is like a lion’s,
How many times has he repelled a disputant in contention!

19. Rejoice, my heart, for the masters are
The blossoms of brows, the light of all darkness.

20. They are these three doors, in them
Is purpose, and kinds of blessings.

21. The sons of the hunter of hearts, the leaders
Whose breaths are cure for all sickness.

22. Planets of the constellation of bounties, all of them
Among men like the towering sign.

23. Keen of scent, possessors of swords, who when
The night of battles grew dark with confusion and clamor,

24. Passed the nights standing in worship of their Lord,
And their days had gone by fasting.

25. They made burdensome darkness easier
With God’s remembrance and recitation of the Quran.

26. And they built the wall of wonders and renewed
The covenant of the Prophet and every imam.

27. So by their secret I rise high and conquer my envy—
By my life, wombs are for wombs!

28. Ah for their comets and meadows,
And the gardens of that fragrant abode.

29. The land shone radiantly with the Prophet’s sons,
Defiantly against the eye of the arrogant.

30. My masters, by your lives do not sever
For this heavy burden of mine, the reins of my mount.

31. And turn to Muhammad and his family
To better my state and guard my position.

32. I am your cub, and the lion guards his cub,
Let him sniff about and protect as he wishes!

33. Where are the white hands and resolves that
Poured their bounties for every matter of import?

34. Rescue, O People of the Virgin, for you
Are the banners that wave between adversaries.

35. I am present with a poem whose content is
Praise, stating my case, the seal of musk.
