1. We stayed up reminiscing about our loved ones, O Hind
Yet the meaning did not become clear, nor was the promise fulfilled

2. We count the stars of the night out of intense passion
And the night toys with us, and so does passion and counting

3. We weep when the guide mentions their attributes
So he is amazed that we weep and we are amazed that he recites poetry

4. Yearning takes hold of us from every side
So we have no respite, nor have we made any effort

5. May the breezes of the unseen grant us to meet
And may proximity fold the carpet extended by separation

6. Our loved ones, your long nights of aloofness have been prolonged
When will the kindness of union dispel the aloofness?

7. Our spirits roam around you every moment
And passion gently touches them on all sides

8. Secretly our hearts turn to you
And truthfulness, love and affection are imprinted on them

9. When the eyelids rest for a moment from the anguish of passion
They almost collapse in the law of love and recoil

10. The gentleness of your meanings and your hours of proximity
And cups of union - nothing equals their sweetness

11. You are the essence of our innermost secrets and their harmony
In their plains, you alone are the praised pearl

12. We complained so the complaint made us weep in passion
And we were wronged - none but you accepted or refused

13. We were healed by you, and you are all things
None but you inwardly took or gave

14. When will fortune assist the unhappy with meeting you
And fulfill what we desire and awaken good fortune?

15. Since the day your faces disappeared
We have not plunged into the depths, nor found any passion

16. The deaf rock shows mercy to us
And the free man and slave look upon us with kindness

17. Return to us, by Allah, your habit of kindness
And be gentle with the tear that streamed from our cheek

18. Show loyalty to us after your abandonment
By Allah, we have no intention but you

19. We folded the fire of passion for you in the heart's secret
It melts, O people, even solid rock

20. Relieve our yearning, O noble ones, with mercy
And give us lifelong gratitude and praise
