1. I copied with my love the verse of passion before me
And became unmatched among the people with integrity and virtue

2. I raised the flag of the religion of love on earth
So the people of passion are my soldiers and I rule over all

3. And every youth who loves, I am before him
With a glorious banner that rules with justice

4. And I left the blamers with their worries and their murmurings
While I am innocent of any youth who listens to rebuke

5. And I have knowledge of love whose traits transcend
Injustice, transgression, malice and spite

6. I gained understanding in the religion of love, knowing
And whoever love has not given understanding is in ignorance

7. And whoever does not wander lost in the glory of love
Has not been guided on the path of excellence and merit

8. And if he does not attain honor for a while in manner and doctrine
By loving the one he desires, give him tidings of humiliation

9. And passion has noble youths whose souls
Are pure in word and deed

10. And their secrets are sanctified, transcending
All but love, O Kaleem

11. When people are generous with wealth I see them
Lowering the importance of wealth below the sole of the foot

12. If the market of their generosity opens one day for their love
They give away lives without any stinginess

13. And if they entrust a secret, I see their hearts as
Treasures which the devils are prevented from reaching

14. And they have made graves in the folds of their hearts
For idols, transcending transfer

15. And if they threaten to abandon, they die fearing
And live when the promise of union comes to them

16. So when they promise, they prosper and their souls prosper
And when they promise death, they yearn for death

17. By my life, they are to me the essence
Of passion, by which the opinion of the transmitter is supported

18. Noble people whose way in love is founded
On truth, while the rest are to me frivolous
