1. A father we were like, but he is lost, and beloved
Indeed you renewed for me the sorrow of Jacob

2. And revived my sorrows for the best companion
I met whom met, O best ever accompanied

3. If you were an uncle who adorned the veils of brotherhood
You were truly the face of piety, unveiled

4. And if you validated for me many a delighted eye
You also saddened after it many a grieving eye

5. I turn a heart in sadness - what duty!
And mourn a person in the soil - what deputy!

6. I cried for you for the good deeds, righteousness and piety
And for the continuous blessings - as requested

7. And for the gathered unity through your right hand - beseeching
And for all the good you caused - best causer

8. The niches of devotion cried you at night's darkness
A crying, yearning, the essence grieved and troubled

9. The corners of asceticism cried you - they were habitations
For their inhabitants, bringing them all they desire

10. The needy cried you, whenever they called
An ambassador for the distressed, sheltering the stricken

11. Diyar cried you - you were most compassionate father
To him who lodged of their youth or their old age

12. And a bird of Yemen you nested like their cuckoo
Lineaging them to kinship through you - best lineaged

13. When the tongues of traces speak of you
We smell on remembering them a scent of aroma

14. Upon you God's peace from a traveller
Travelling one of generosity from the clouds drawn

15. And you congratulated with the Gardens, leaving behind
A hellfire of sorrows after you extinguished

16. To part from a beloved with tears and regret
So between ascending upon you and aiming to you

17. And lighten what we meet of grief, that we
Will catch up with whom departed from us, by order

18. And these are but carriages days
To death, on a course of lifetime mounted

19. If reckoning the separation of pigeons joins them
By strong longing against souls and nearing

20. Then how many aged or youth has dictated upon
Reasons from an afflicted fate and assigned

21. And how many of despised morals or defeated
Banished him inevitably victor never vanquished

22. And how many of a book in the world and scripts
Became insider from his death under ordained

23. And how many heedless plays with a term of wishes
Rotates upon likes of him promise of life sworn

24. And how many hopeful in lifetime reckons successful
Came to him unexpectedly sudden uncounted

25. Bloodshed, O Imam of time, for whom I lost
And live a hoped living, eternity gifted

26. The uncle passed where the face remains for praiser
So how is time in what came to it with injustice
