1. To the one who reproaches love,
My thoughts are those of a bewildered poetess

2. In every club my madness has become
Scattering and my tears composing verses

3. My affections are devoted to the love of one
Whose eyes deprive me of sleep through fasting

4. The price of union burns those it brands
And my reckless love knows no restraint

5. I sigh like spears with curved blades
Equitable though unjust

6. You blame the drowsiness of my eyelids
Reproaching my slumbering madness

7. As you blamed me when we met
Some base souls still harbor resentment

8. The best of mortals, most knowledgeable and most sagely
In purpose, most glorious in name

9. Of noble lineage, his ancestry
Is a constant sitting companion

10. Unique in his time, excelling his peers
His days have been cheerful

11. His eloquence carefully crafted
His praise universally appropriate

12. God has granted me in my plight
Utility, jurisdiction, dividing truth

13. Both are a salvation for the seeker
A decisive hand against ignorance and confusion

14. Our pens tracing his virtues
Are led by a serving handmaid

15. Blessed the beginning and the end
Abu Al-Baqa, may you enjoy enduring grace

16. With abundant, lasting blessings
And means fortified, enabled

17. By determined, learned resolution
And an honest bond in amiability

18. And through his children we have smiled
The luminous dawn of guidance shone

19. Brilliant with its radiant stars
Helpmeet of the supporters, their ruler

20. Never ceasing to steer their realm
The scion of Ali sprouted through his kin

21. To give life to their bodies, O Fatima
Raising through their shade her home

22. Vanquishing their enemies with certainty
