The arts of knowledge and its masters.

2. You captured meanings like flowers of stars,
So fortune established you as its pillar.

3. You affirmed the rank of excellence,
And remained, O eye, its human embodiment!

4. Whenever you extend the gaze of awe,
You awaken swords and their sheaths.

5. And you recalled cultured Egypt,
And concealed your Damascus in its April.

6. You satisfied in people their Creator,
And in the state, its Sultan.

7. So you made the state's power greatest
By your excellence, and brought intimacy to its notables.

8. Poetry gave you its collection,
And prose loaded you with its collection.

9. I say, with the refinement that
Suits the soul's composition:

10. Long live supremacy, O its core!
And the kingdom of sublime knowledge, O its Solomon!
