1. A verse of praise, then a verse for the praised one
O home of Atikah, for whom I yearn

2. This and that I try to repel
Beware of the enemy, and with it my heart is entrusted

3. And he who repels me turns away from me
Surely I am inclined with the repellers to incline

4. So let the deaf month rejoice, I recognize it
When praising, listening happily

5. Although it listens to the complaints of the day from
A fate that sorrows speak of and act upon

6. And a man returns me from the door of my masters
The key to their door, for the like of me, I represent

7. And I want not, O son of Ali, that my ardour
From beneath my zealous heart and above
