1. Have patience, for the reward is better and greater,
And your view is more guided to that which is more upright.

2. And how often has excessive grief benefited a man? It did not avail,
So why do we not benefit and commit sin?

3. And though I am silent in lamenting loved ones,
My heart speaks with sorrow.

4. I console you for a branch that withered before it was watered,
And the leaves of intimacy stood up murmuring.

5. To the likes of this, fate has pledged its people -
Joining and separation that brings ease and pain.

6. And if absence has prevented them from coming to us,
We will go forward to our own absence.
