1. I shed tears copiously near her abode
When she bid me farewell and left me forlorn

2. If only her neighborhood would bless me
For I have suffered in her absence, woe and scorn

3. In love I found what others found as well
May the glories of King Saif live on adorned

4. The ornaments of King Saif dazzle the onlooker
His gardens and clouds belong to Allah alone

5. The Sultan al-Nasir saw you resplendent
So he approved your finery and poise

6. His favors reached a kingly extent
While your hands poured blessings without cease

7. Oh brother of bounty, many a naked starving soul
Whose bodies and lives your kindness did appease
