1. Remember the fevered thirsting for water, so they took
A cup of sorrow, weeping copiously.

2. And he left the neighbors of youth, except
In his heart he left ardent love and said farewell.

3. He repeats kissing the soil as if
He tries to seal what he deposited in it.

4. So his tears have become the words of his passion
And his words from tenderness have become tears.

5. I say, and I have returned to Damascus remembering them
Oh if only God destroys the doves returning!

6. It reminds me of the days of sandalwood perfume as if
With my pearls of tears it became a necklace adorned.

7. Perhaps every year, visiting after parting
How excellent for the sake of places with water!

8. Leader of guidance and knowledge, I congratulated
Happy arrival and promise of acceptance and return.

9. Circling and hastening to the Imam who hastened
And circled the beloved fevered places and enjoyed.

10. The curtains of the house almost pull in his cold
Knowing the praiseworthy traits even more beautiful.

11. By my life, the place and its people rejoiced
With the visit of the most faithful and devout visitors.

12. For however many guests fill with kindness
They have filled the stones with praise and prayer.

13. And the horizon of Damascus rejoiced at the return
Of a brilliant leader, making the people and land happy.

14. The branches of the country greet him as if
They fell prostrate towards the Imam and bent in prayer.

15. And they continue kissing until the smile of the rain in the land
At the passage of the mounts appears.

16. May God grant you the most pious and pure of hearts
And highest in rank among people and most beneficial.

17. And most generous in lineage and overflowing merits
And noblest in this world and in religion a pillar.

18. And softest hand which if it waved a thin branch
The onlooker would wonder and say most delicate.

19. Blessings from a hand whose prayers
Shaded people altogether.

20. To you, speaker of Damascus, son of its speaker
Eloquence in praise was your righteousness even greater

21. Praising you is an obligation for me since I have
Begun, bestowing favors voluntarily.
