1. I have no way to you without longing
So leave coyness and what it may say

2. No matter how much joy and tears I send
They are borne by my eyes and eyelids

3. O tender branch, your tyranny is evident
If you do not bend, how can you sway?

4. How much does the heart burn for you
While your memory is hearts' friend

5. I sigh for the passing of the gentle breeze
Hoping for healing though it is frail

6. And I confide the wound of my limbs to grief
Though grieving's wounding is healing

7. As for the heart's passion, it is plenty
For me, though longing is not seemly

8. Leave shyness, for you know not my youth
While the knowing is far and ignorant near

9. I am he who turns lovers and their love
Like the bending of palm trees in Rayyan

10. I know the devout and the generous
Whose qualities roam in description

11. Those clear in lineage and assuming in homes
Those firm in life and changing in existence

12. Those who left their homes branching out
Principles arose for them after lessons

13. If the home of pottery is weighed with his mention
Its structure for generosity is active

14. Extending over Aleppo but his generosity
Flows from it over the Euphrates, the Nile

15. The praises he purchases are well-known
So there is no uncertainty in their sale

16. The abodes shone from seeing him
As if the breeze entirely blessed the abodes

17. His gifts erased the rubbish of his time
As if that was rubbish and this, floods

18. He strives for his wishes praising the eulogized
And returns, himself the hoped for praised

19. If the trace of kissing his noble hand remained
Its back would be kissed by kissing

20. Some discourse, if repeated to a describer
Except discourse of his qualities, bores

21. Clarifying an opinion containing the heights’ utterances
In it, for every lame, easing

22. And gifts connected to virtues
So favor where he stayed, and preference

23. And heeding its words included
That heal, and gathering its pride, included

24. From the apiarist’s combs in it a lineage
No wonder its words are honeyed

25. O excellent is the pen whose habit
Is protecting the forbidden and its wealth spent

26. It elevates realms while lowering its head
And enriches conditions while emaciated

27. I praised you, O Ibn Sa’id, blessings upon us
The meadow of praises around it plucked

28. Discourse took wing through it, frail, soaring
While its wing’s compassion is dampened

29. I forget no partnership while time is wintry
And attaining your palm while the cloud is barren

30. A nobility grayed in its praise for it
Is eternally connected to the noblest lineages

31. O you whose loftiness from praise is rich
And the dawn brighter to stand as proof

32. Take from your patron, hearing and forgiving
The struggle of praise though it is grand

33. If my poetry is not decorative at your door
Then let my praise be accepted, it is offered
