1. My friends, send a spirit with soft words
To greet the tents, or pass by the dwellings,

2. And say of us, in their shade, and cast
Pebbles as the pilgrim casts pebbles at Mina.

3. And say to those you meet who have been guided right:
"Urge us on in the rush of pilgrims at daybreak,

4. The tents wherein are those who so pine
With groaning and pouring forth tears in sobs."
