1. I am weary of the endless chatter in Sanaa,
And I hate the palace towering high above all others.

2. I hate the strange unintelligible voices in it,
And the blue flags of the Emirate raised aloft.

3. And the one who calls out in the night for his morning,
The worries knocking are bed enough for him.

4. So O Lord I call on you in the evening sincerely,
Turning to you in repentance, humble and devout.

5. Forgive me if I have gone too far or if in ignorance,
I was led astray, when another path would have been wiser.
