1. Bestow high praise upon my noble kin
In verses finer than your finest lines

2. If, when passion fills the mind some day,
You happen to meet them, stay awhile.

3. Drink their wine till northern stars grow dim.
Their morning cups make daylight shine.

4. Their tents, when darkness falls, give cheer
To every guest. Their bowls brim over.

5. If vines in spring yield less than hoped,
No matter. Of their bounty there's enough.

6. Excuse all others if you will, but them --
So virtuous and well bred -- do not rebuke.
