1. From whence, and from where did sorrow disturb you
From a place with no infatuation, nor doubt

2. Not from the seekers of the veiled
When the curtain fell below the abodes

3. Nor from laden camels who passed
After a period of time,

4. Nor did the guests in the desolate abode disturb me
With bleating and they have no mounting beasts

5. Stripped warriors cloaked
With no return and no retrieving

6. No labor pain, nor tithe of she-camel
No wounding, no capture

7. They became worn out, so they became lean
Neither tenderness, nor itch altered them

8. Their starved camels became a cure for their children when they were destitute
No cries remained in the abode of the dwelling

9. Neither a marrier nor bachelor
Disheveled, with worn-out clothes

10. Grease defiled him while having no wealth
It drapes him like a cloak, wandering

11. Above the sands with his slopes
Neither like the craftsmen's furnace cast

12. In the abode - no iron armor, nor wood
Nor of the humiliated dark camels

13. What they dragged or pulled
Why do I have an abode after its dweller

14. Even if I remembered its people, I would sob

Leave with those commissioned with the abodes

20. And do not allege on it what the beasts claim
And the pasturage, were there any thorns amongst them

21. Or were there none, they took and gave
This, not that, is my praise of the abodes

22. Though it takes me, and lineage away from me
And I seek pleasure from the promptings of vitality

23. And I meet with youth so we accompany one another
And I gain the sober she-camel if

24. My arrows caused her to limp and I gain
And I preoccupy the vacant eyes of the

25. White complexioned and they make me forget and I forget
When I have an aged camel I straighten it

26. The vain laugh at me, how strange
So it changed from black to very white

27. That dye cannot conceal with kohl
And I became like an old man, the maiden gazes

28. At the sands disgusted from seeing me and I am disgusted
They reckon for me in years fifty

29. I consider myself forty
Withdrawn from me as the rope tightens

In lineage, your people extended the lineage

37. The most generous of our pillars is your pillar
The fresh, moist pillar, not the dry

38. What is between Eve until your lineage to

39. End to end they transmitted you, for you
Is the silver among them white, and the gold

40. Until your refined house ascended
Above the high minarets below which are the Arabs

43. And the gathering final, the confirming
Of the former as the books alternate

44. And the mounted seeking, the winds subjugated for him
As aides and the terror

45. And the goodly, named the winged ones
Attaining what they sought

46. Informing, warning, a light by which
Among us the circling and monuments were denied

47. After we had clung with the camel hair

A people when the valiant clash

61. Upon their mouths, blissful is the taste of them
If they descend then the abundant rains early

62. And the lion, lion of the den, if they rode
They are neither entrusted at their turns

63. Nor failing if they stumble
Tranquil, gentle in their homes

64. The form of piety and the ascending virtues
And the pure exonerated from

65. Blemish and the begetters and the elite
And the safeguarded from faults and the head of heads

66. If they erred
They do not take affairs out of ignorance

67. Nor falsely claiming from where it is pulled
They take the best of what they contain

68. When they gather in their palms they drank
And after a stumble it is not said of them

69. They spun excuses, rather they calculated
And the restrainers, the drawers near

70. Of the matter, and the people of fury if they raged
They do not venture affairs heedlessly

71. Nor lose a thing of what they extracted
If they ventured a matter, together they did

72. Or if they inserted, lucidly they conveyed when they neared
Their fountain in prosperity is moderate

73. Guarded by the sturdy, its sturdy thorns
Those overflowing with glory extracted

74. Their lances ahead of lances if they struck
They won it, not sharing, as

75. The elite of the spoils attained when they snatched hungrily
Since below it for the hopeful, the sinful ones

76. Those who covet it, the stupidity
It raised them in its strong twisted ascent

77. Manifesting power, not the hasty climbers
And they attained without it unattainables

78. Where the scope of the sprinters when they hastened greedily
O best of those the she-camel knelt for you

79. You are the branches of the lush, not the withered
You are from war in its virtues

80. Where the millstone meets the pole
When after an elderly she-camel, a pleasing sight

81. Bald from it, the smooth and the clamor
Shorn headed, neither adorned by

82. Beauty nor by shyness acting coy
And the kindlers came when the detainer

83. Detained from it the departing and the fingertips
Two cauldrons, their fuel not sparked

84. Below the ashes erect
Neither by the two firebrands descending

85. Nor by the flames kindling their oldness
Between the two not the torches of firebrands

86. Without their fire the shooting stars
And in the years, the abundant rains early

87. When the wrist cannot hold when it tied forcefully
It lightened for the slanderers through

88. Generosity in it the ending and the fresh herbage
Will my message reach you, the cheeky she-camel

89. And the journey from me is habitual
Noisy, howling, let loose, bleating she-camels

90. The white foxes split away from them
When the apparitions gather their destinations

91. And the claim of visions was false
With a frown, postponing, deceiving

92. An opinion, from what the burial contained
Not started by the hasty, nor

93. Trod by the drivers and the vanguards
As if it were the active, the passionate

94. Of strong built, from the wild of the white-haired
The dirty camels bellowed for it

95. With shouting, roaring, and the dusty
Its clothes the winter clad it

96. And the dust from its straps the dust
In the bosom of its howdah seeking refuge

97. A guest its villages the fox and the lynx
That night of yours, that long night

98. As if relieving its knot the brambles
Until a brow of the sun appeared and

99. The eastern brow from it concealing
Then it went shaking off the ice

100. As the debris fell from it, collecting wood
So hardship tested it in the strike of misfortune

101. With vigor as if it were playing
So it walked in the horror of suddenness

102. Bent in compassion and the heart selected
Then it calmed when the horror hatched

103. So it brought out from it anger
So it repelled it with the death throe

104. Of glimmering life, it bloodied its intestines and the graves
And attained from it the roasting, openings

105. Like the cleaver, or eroded its slippers the holes
So those not that, and it is in the inviolable

106. Of the noble blood, in two inviolable ones who paled
Carrying their biers upon the bier

107. And the respite, from it the weak maidens
If it is said, they said, then above its luggage

108. Or they celebrated, so are the containers and the waterskins
The shaken by it does not heal

109. From the position, the humiliated from the strike of affliction the tendon
Unless five which are the settler with

110. The riding beasts where the camels kneel
As if they were the hasteners to

111. The young, slackened, the headbands
They carry above the chests a vessel

112. For others the sheaths and the ruins
The creators did not diminish its productivity

113. Nor did the many that it produced decrease
To a twin as if it birthed the monkey

114. With white armpit for its mother the coarse hair
Neither did the feathers in their places

115. Wound from it, nor by it did the cane revive
Taking from the spiny trees like

116. A necklace from it the lote trees and truffles
Similar to the kalaa except their heads

117. In them the poison and the slopes quiver
Neither thankful when they are rich

118. Nor in their poverty is harshness suspected
Those not these when the moment settled

119. And the saddlebags were tightened and the waterskins
They penetrate with the riding beast hastily

120. And are scolded without whips if they were blamed
Disheveled, worn clothes, the ground

121. Rolled with them so are the hills then the mountains
It raised them once and lowered them

122. When they floated above its implements they swam
To visitors in their visit

123. Achieving piety and the dignity was complete
