1. The glance of Umm Khushayf has captivated me,
And lodged arrows of love in my heart.

2. Like the gazelles of Mecca's valley,
Who freely shed blood there.

3. The hunter returns from them defeated,
While they hunt the gentle Muslim.

4. If only, when they set up their idols,
They had guarded the sanctity of pilgrims' hearts.

5. It would not harm them, if they rescued a thirsty man,
And gave him a sip to quench his thirst.

6. For he has access to Zamzam's water,
If they allowed him to slake his thirst there.
