1. O she who walks at dawn exultantly
You are to my passionate heart appeasing

2. You reminded me of the people of the first valley
They left and made my innermost grieved

3. Those neighbors, O my neighbor
They neighbored, and my tears with them flowing

4. They left taking away in the Bedouin lands in the darkness
And deprived me of the pleasure of wellbeing

5. Nothing of skin remained for me after them
And in my skin their traces manifest

6. They occupied my mind with them constantly
Rather, they ignited my old bones

7. O she of idle neck from adornment
In every state, you are to me comforting

8. Is there a pact of intimacy between us in passion
In thought, or have you to it forgetting

9. And do I see in you any mercy
For me, or intending deprivation constantly

10. Who can I meet you even if
I see in it things burning me

11. Your eyelids, O breeze of barren land, from them
Like two unsheathed swords piercing

12. And your waist of honey, how many stabs
From his chest in my liver searing

13. And your cheek mole of amber
It has the act of the conquering dot

14. No harm if you visit unexpectedly
On the wings of night like the rising star

15. And pass by my abode even for an hour
Bearing the wine cup and to me pouring

16. So I see myself alone in the world
As if having the second rank

17. For that is Abraham who has ascended
To the heights with the lofty determination

18. And I am his boon companion, and our God
To us through him is the perfect bounty

19. When we praise him, we see his praise
Like our saying the sky is lofty

20. But thankfully, for his good deed
We mention of his evident virtues

21. Precious are his virtues to us
Purer than amber and the precious

22. The sublime qualities are realized in him
So praise unequal finds not the precious

23. If in him was only his lineage
To a father for him would be sufficient

24. But he has a soul of all sublimity
Of excellent or growing pedigree

25. So his munificence recites to us his nobility
Like lightning before the pouring rain

26. And his loyalty of repute
Accompanies it with pure intent

27. He still remains at the peak perfected
Like the full moon no decline affecting
