1. I say to her, while youth still graces us,
Our days have passed making excuses

Nor will you fail to keep vows

5. My excuse in love itself has faded
And my patience is waning

6. After this day, blame me as you wish
Perhaps I’ll find relief by speaking out

7. If you fear embarrassment from me
Then show me affection so I may be spared

8. Let me gather roses in my hand
Until their splendor makes necklaces dull

9. Glimpse your pearl-like lips from me
To take away my pain and melt my fire

10. Their pearls narrated exquisite poetry
For one who attained glory and esteem

11. A noble, generous, and kind-hearted prince
Noble in origin, from an excellent people

12. Lofty in qualities, immersed
In sciences, like oceans

13. His state in every state
His honor from any dishonor

14. His reputation is high, and destiny is dear
Dignity for guests along with gravitas

15. If my poetry falls short, I see
My gratitude to him is my life's purpose

16. He has virtue over peers of the age
Like a shining full moon among stars

17. His features still rival
The breeze in the garden at dawn

18. And his virtues still match
The passing days, overtaken by fate
