بشقيق وجنتيك الجني وآسها

1. With your cheek and heavenly gardens and their virtues
Cure the burning passions of your lovers and ease them

١. بشقيقِ وَجنَتيكَ الجنَّي وآسها
عالج لواعجَ عاشقيكَ وآسها

2. And allow the sending of slumber to an eyelid
That has granted its every drowsiness to your eyelids

٢. واسمح بإرسالِ الرُّقادِ لمقلةٍ
أهدت إلى جفنيكَ كلَّ نُعاسِها

3. O you who expose the fragrant branch with a stature
Whose tresses flutter over its bending

٣. يا فاضحَ الغُصن الرَّطيبِ بقامةٍ
تهفُو ذَوائبُها على ميَّاسِها

4. And who aims arrows from his eyes
That reached in my admiration to its fortresses

٤. ومسدِّداً من مقلتيهِ أسهماً
في مُهدتي وَصلَت إلى بُرجاسِها

5. You forgot days in the greenness that were delightful
With the perfection of its joy over its kinds

٥. أنسيتَ بالخضراءِ أيَّاماً زضهت
بكمالِ بهجتها على أجناسِها

6. And gardens of four and the redness of its roses
And the thickets of its rivers and the greenness of its trunks

٦. ورياضِ أربعها وحُمرةِ وردها
وغياضِ أنهُرها وخُضرةِ آسِها

7. By Allah a youthful era I spent
In its meadows and by my side its scale

٧. لله عَصرُ شبيبةٍ قضيَّتُه
في مرجها وبجانبي مقياسها

8. And on the right side a house I substituted
Whose flats the dwarf-palm substituted from its jujube

٨. وبأيمنِ العلمين دارٌ بدِّلت
عرصاتُها الإيحاشَ من إيناسِها

9. I presented myself at it on horseback submitting
From the full moon of its sunrise and the edge of its threshing-floor

٩. عرَّضتُ فيها بالرَّكابِ مُسلِّما
عن بَدرِ مشرقها وريم كناسِها

10. And I stayed long in contemplating its ruins but
The disheveled did not show affection to me in its homes

١٠. وأَطلتُ في اطلالِها مَكثي فَما
عَطفت عليَّ الشُّعثُ في أدراسِها

11. And I wish not your father was stingy in answering it
If a house informed him about its people

١١. وأبيكَ ما بَخلت بِردِّ جَوابها
لو أنَّ داراً خبَّرت عَن نَاسِها
