1. I have desisted from nothing but properties
And repented from nothing but gambling
١. أَقلعتُ إِلاَّ عَنِ العُقارِ
وَتُبتُ إِلاَّ مِنَ القِمَارِ
2. So the cup and the branch are not devoid
Of them, neither my right nor my left
٢. فَالكأسُ والغُصنُ لَيسَ يَخلو
مِنها يَميني وَلا يَساري
