Delicate beside cushions of silk

١. هَيَّجَ الدَّاء في فُؤادِكَ حُورٌ
ناعِماتٌ بِجانِبِ الِملطَاطِ

2. Pleasant companions of chaste conversation
Lifting the curtains of brocade tents

٢. آنِسَاتُ الَحديثِ في غَيرِ فُحشٍ
رافِعاتٌ جَوانِبَ الفِسطاطِ

3. Doubled over in fits of giggling
Above carpets and embroideries

٣. ثِانيَاتٌ قَطائِفَ الخَزِّ والدِّي
باَجِ فَوقَ الخُدُورِ والأَنماطِ

4. Modest in their attire yet in them is
Refinement in figure and waist

٤. مُوقَراتٌ منَ اللُّحُوم وفيهَا
لُطُفٌ في البنَانِ والأَوساطِ

5. What saddened us most were insolent ones
When they clicked their shoes with their whips

٥. شَدَّ مَا ساءَنا حُداةٌ تَوَلَّوا
حِينَ حَثُّوا نِعالَها بِالسٍّياطِ

6. So God divided them, those insolent ones
And they reaped the reward of restlessness

٦. فَرَّقَ اللهُ بَينَهُم مِن حُداةٍ
واستَفادُوا حُمَّى مَكانَ النَّشاطِ

7. Just as they had stirred my heart, so it was
Wandering after the bliss of intimacy

٧. مِثلَ ما هَيَّجُوا فُؤادي فأَمسىَ
هائماً بَعدَ نِعمَةِ الإِغِتباطِ
