1. And my repetition and echoing sound sweet
I address the noble grave directly

2. And say to creative thought - go further!
O best of all people

3. O cream of God, the One, the Greatest
O best of those who walked the earth and most generous

4. In granting reward to a singer or poet
Seeking with uncried tears

5. Wrapped in sins and crimes
That weakened all his strength and every mighty mountain

6. So intercede for him, for he has come seeking intercession
My master, by the two grandsons, the grandchildren of Ahmed

7. And ask God to pardon his sins
So that he may see purity from them tomorrow

8. And bless him with goodness, for that is with You,
My master, the most perfect purpose for the seeker

9. And veil him in this world and the next - only
By naming me the namers of Mohammed

10. And grace me with knowledge from His breast
Pouring like a sea full of wisdom

11. And grant me a drink from a basin whose roses
Ensure no drinker of that stream will thirst

12. And the greetings of the doves upon you
And the longing of longing ones for the grave of Mohammed
