1. I regret that the house has been emptied of you
By what the Most Merciful had ordained in preceding destiny

2. And the cups of sorrow turned to me after losing you
While the cups revolved among you, O daughter of generosity

3. So spare a place between two souls among you
That you greet on my behalf and name it with my name

4. And say to whoever sang to you, let him sing to me
With my voice for what time has unjustly done to me

5. Enough by God for what injustice you have done me
For this is the station of one seeking refuge from injustice

6. I was patient but no, by God, I have no endurance
For patience, yet I was patient in spite of myself
