1. O you who left me, how long will you be away?
Don't you know that your abandonment hurts me?

2. I've stayed up through the night, sleepless,
Alone in the darkness' stifling embrace.

3. I look upon the stars, starry-eyed,
Questioning every passerby about you.

4. This was not my intention, nor what roamed in my thoughts,
As Allah is my witness, protector of all.

5. Do you wish to gloat over my misfortune,
My enviers, adversaries, and deniers?

6. Far be it from you! You who joined me,
O light of my innermost secrets.

7. Give me news of your return, healing balm
To mend me, O you returning visitor.

8. To you I complain and lament before Him
Who created the heavens, the Almighty Forgiver,

9. The One, The King, His majesty immense,
Possessor of glory and honor sublime.

10. O Lord, O my hope, send down rain
When the clouds scarce withhold their waters.

11. Revive me with a downpour - I'm humbly submitting,
A powerless servant battered by harms.

12. O my pursuit, my haven, my refuge,
My retreat in ease and in adversity.

13. My support in woes, my pillar in home and haunts,
My wellspring of livelihood and vitality.

14. Look upon me with eyes of mercy,
So every dried up soul of mine may revive.

15. Through Ahmad I intercede, the seal of prophets,
The messenger immaculate and pure.

16. And his successor and confidante, the chosen one,
Al-Murtada, righteous, pious, victorious.

17. And their grandson and scion, luminary conceived,
Shaykh Muhyi Al-Din Abd Al-Qadir Al-Jilani,

18. The singular sage of his time, shaykh of all shaykhs,
Succor of nations, inwardly and outwardly.

19. Downpour of cities, their rain in droughts,
By permission of his Master, vanquisher of tyrants.

20. Pillar of law, path, and guidance, ocean of truth,
Vast, bountiful, chest of certainty sans doubt.

21. Foremost of souls, unfazed by condemnation or refusal,
Imam of the people of truth, no denial in him.

22. He illuminated servants so they are guided
In this life and the next, early and late.

23. How many a lost soul or wandering heart
Were rightly guided by his advice and prayers!

24. Of him upon his throne it was said:
My feet are upon the necks of all creatures.

25. So the great ones in all corners submitted,
Humbling themselves before the Might of the Able.

26. O Shaykh Muhyi Al-Din, our master and refuge,
Come to the aid of the helpless, destitute.

27. Great perils and calamities threaten all round,
So stand by me, saving the desperate.

28. I seek aid, victory, and watchful eyes,
Pleading, beseeching, hoping, interceding through you,

29. And through Muhammad, best of creation,
Blessings upon him, like rain without count.

30. In his land and the sea in its waves,
And the sand in its infinite grains.

31. And his household and companions and followers,
Every patient, turning, grateful soul.

32. All praise to Allah eternally
For His ceaseless favors and blessings.
