1. My advice to you, O one of merit and courtesy
If you wish to reach the highest of ranks

2. And attain precedence and ambitions
Congratulations on attaining your aim and purpose

3. Fear God, whom you hope for His mercy
The One, the Unique, the Dispeller of distress

4. Uphold His obligations and abstain from His prohibitions
And spend your nights and days drawing near to Him

5. Make your heart feel a fear that never leaves it
Of its Lord, as one who loves and desires Him

6. Adorn your heart with sincerity and diligence
And know that your Lord will make you stumble into pitfalls

7. Cleanse your pocket of all faults and do not
Enter the domains of the immoral and suspicious

8. Guard your tongue from slandering anyone
Of God's servants or from conveying or lying

9. Be dignified, humble, not absorbed
In frivolity, laughter, joys and play

10. Safeguard your chest from deceit and envy
And avoid arrogance, poor or amazed

11. Be content with humility as a trait, it is the trait of
The righteous, so emulate them to be saved from pits

12. Beware, you and I, of ignorantly saying
"I am above you" in misguidance and reckoning

13. For some have lagged behind, not seeking
To attain honors, self-sufficient in their fathers

14. Oppose your self, know it as an enemy
Reject its whims, what it chooses, pour them away

15. If it calls you to temporary pleasure through its desires
Explain the agony that lies therein

16. In your heart, reject the abode that has tempted
Factions, who saw it as the ultimate desire

17. Vying for it, they gave their molds to it
With their hearts - by God, what strange wonder

18. It is so insignificant in worth, not weighing
A feather with God, so the greedy is foolish

19. Take from your worldly life what suffices you
To attain glory with your Lord, and consider

20. Know that whoever buys his now
With his forever loses endless bliss

21. If you are tested with poverty, be content
With God your Lord, Most Gracious, Most Generous

22. If you are stripped bare, act with certainty and without
Knowledge, if your means are bound to the cause

23. Recite the Quran with an attentive heart
Always, do not neglect or become inattentive

24. For in it is guidance, knowledge within it
As well as light, opening, unveiling of veils

25. Remember your God unceasingly
For remembrance is like a sultan in closeness

26. When sleepers slumber, exert yourself
Standing, never negligent of courtesy

27. Parents have a right to be fulfilled
By one who fears God and is connected through lineage

28. Do not forget the rights of neighbors and companions
Choose the company of the righteous and pure

29. Treat people with good manners, do not
Reproach anyone, nor tire yourself

30. Exert yourself for them, advise them
Uphold their rights for God, and take responsibility

31. Beware the company of the wicked, the foolish
The envious, and those who stir up trouble

32. Take patience as an ally, knowing
Its beginning is bitter, its end sweet as honey

33. My Lord, You are my goal and my reliance
My retreat in this life and my destination

34. So forgive and pardon Your servant who has no
Good deeds, who has fallen into pits

35. Yet he repented from his sins and came to You
Confessing, fearing Your wrath

36. If You pardon, it is Your grace, O Eternal
So be generous, my God, my shelter

37. Then blessings upon the Guide, his family
Muhammad, my resolve, striking sparks

38. As long as leaves rustle on branches
And boughs sway to and fro in the valleys
