1. Recall the memory of Salma and the memory of Saad
To please my hearing and purify my heart

2. To calm it down and settle its passions
For in it is solace like the glow of ember

3. When the lover recalls a life now gone
Amongst the dwellings of loved ones in a good valley

4. He weeps for it with tears that water his cheeks
As rain waters the ground during the season of clouds

5. In his depths stirs an anguish
With sighs that almost escape

6. And I remain in my innermost being
When aridity leaves me fearing barrenness

7. Find comfort but no comfort is found
And I cannot forget the covenants of affection

8. Nor a people who were once my family
And my tribe they are the sought purpose

9. They all perished and I remained alone among
People of much corruption and little guidance

10. Masses who are slaves of passion, forgetters of the Return
So no welcome or ease to them

11. While welcome and ease to the party of guidance
O Saad if you grant me happiness

12. Come, come let us roam the lands
Questioning with our feet

13. The chiefs' tents longing for provision
If we attain our sought desire

14. It is God's grace, Lord of all people
And if we miss it, such are times

15. Times of tribulations, oft deceiving
Though among them remain a few

16. But they are behind veils of generosity
As the best of mankind said

17. And what the successor said, be righteous
O Lord, O our Lord, be for us

18. For You are the best guardian and guide
And conclude with good and excellent certainty

19. And love of meeting, the best gain
And send blessings and peace upon Ahmad

20. The prophet of guidance whenever a branch swayed
And the cloud poured and the breeze blew gently

21. And the pigeon cooed and the spring gushed
