1. Our beloved ones in the flashing banner,
In drawings, ruins, folds and tents where my malady was cured,

2. In the valley's depths, the hilltops, and the places of their dwellings,
Ancient or new, friends or strangers, but for those who bear enmity.

3. The landmarks and tokens in every homeland,
Are our homelands, remnants of past nations.

4. In the sacred places whose precincts,
Flowing in sequence, have quenched them in sequence.

5. They live through them, both those who frequented them
And those whose homelands and people are far.

6. All are neighbors to Allah's house, our Creator,
To whom incline the hearts of the noble and the sage.

7. The place of delegations, which they visit
On foot or riding the backs of swift camels.

8. My friend, do you see the days restoring me
After sickness and old age have touched me?

9. Alas! Too long has been the separation.
The dwellings, the traces, the encampments are lost to us.

10. The time of possibilities escaped me
Through heedlessness, while my hopes in Allah remained.

11. Judgment belongs to Allah, of the mighty throne,
The obeyed commander, transcendent, originator of souls.

12. By Allah's decree, our master
Good is destined for man, and provision is apportioned.

13. So ask Allah for success in obeying Him
And thanking Him, for He is worthy of bounty and nobility.

14. And may the end, when death takes us,
Be with goodness, righteousness, and forgiveness for sins.

15. Then bless the Guide and his family
Muhammad, for as long as lightning flashes across tents,

16. And ringdoves coo at dawn,
And clouds unleash rain and drizzle.
