1. My friend, today my tears flow
Down my cheeks, sent by sorrow's rain.

2. In my heart and my insides there is a fire of grief
When recollection kindles it aflame.

3. For loved ones and brothers when they departed
To graves, barren deserts, relocated,

4. We were, they were, and closeness gathered,
Home filled, and rope connected.

5. Destiny's victory was swift, pleasures halted,
So they did not stay, from loved ones distracted,

6. Not crooked to family or child,
As if not among them they settled.

7. I wonder at the world and its seeker,
And the greedy for it, his mind deranged.

8. Oblivious - for the oblivious even if
The term is long, the respite and hope are dangerous.

9. Some have traveled, some transported
To graves that cunning is useless within.

10. Therein questions, and what fears and strife
For criminals, who of their Lord were heedless.

11. And in graves bliss for the pious, as
Therein torment for those crooked in religion.

12. Say to the sorrowful one who cries for loved ones:
Cry for yourself, for the matter is impending.

13. You will surely drink of the cup they drank
Whether clear or cloudy.

14. So take the remainder of an age whose most
Was in nothing! Why, O man, have you been heedless?

15. Do you not see people gone, disappeared
From a society, known for deeds?

16. Of the family of Alawi, masters of people, of the
Pure house, no doubt and no dispute.

17. Tirem boasted of them, mosques glorified
As did its houses and lands.

18. She wears out when they are lost, and it is her right
As they are her beloveds, if harms are feared.

19. Safety and prosperity through them to the dweller,
And visitors when they came or left.

20. Like the noble, dignified Al-Hindi, though he adorned
Religion and knowledge - excellent, reverent, majestic.

21. Pure of conscience, radiant lineage, handing over
His wings to people of goodness, generous.

22. Age-old in invocation, preserving
By knowledge and remembrance, no fatigue or laziness.

23. He is the loyal, faithful brother from early
On loyalty and faithfulness - if you wish, then ask!

24. The eminent, virtuous son of eminent ancestors
Through whom guidance lives and flourishes.

25. Oh woe for him and woe after him - may
God make the journey easy, for it has set out.

26. So God have mercy on him, and God honor him,
And please him, and lodge him in the highest paradise.

27. And God create after him good fortune
In blessed offspring and loved ones - numerous.

28. And relatives and all people of the land
When the like of him is lost - serious affliction.

29. Thanks be to God - none lasts but Him
None hoped for but Him, all dependent on Him.

30. Then prayer on the guide, Muhammad, not sent
Except with truth, the messengers sealed by him.

31. And his progeny and companions for as long
As the morning gleams and the breeze blows, shifting the sand dunes.
