1. On the valley of Rakamatayn my greetings I bestow
And suffice with it in my journey and dwelling

2. Of the virgin damsels veiled and cloistered
Far reaching for one who cannot be reached

3. Beloved whose beauty captivated me
With grace, favor and tending of the reins

4. The twigs of the acacia narrate her poise
And a face like the full moon in the darkness

5. Cheeks like pink rose in its cheeks
And a glance possessing magic and shooting arrows

6. Lips diffusing musk in their sighs
With pure honey dripping from every cup

7. Neck like a crystal jug
And chest in which pomegranates ripen

8. Waist the wrap could barely contain
And innards that spurn any food

9. Be not lost in depicting a houri as if
She were a damsel with the gaze of Houri Khayyam

10. Begot her the generations, hunting from the Hashemites
When it came to pedigree, the summit of glory

11. From the Fatimids calling to true guidance
Who tread the path of the best imam

12. The prophet of guidance, sea of piety, master of all
Dispeller of every darkness

13. And his best successor and cousin
Ali the contented, vanquisher of every gloom

14. And Hamza and Abbas with Ja'far his two winged brothers
Soaring in the abode of eternity

15. And she came from the Mother of Believers Khadija
And Zahra the sublime, concluding with musk

16. My intercessor with Allah's Messenger and devout Zayn
And their elucidator and the self-elevating truthful one

17. Strengthened by the light of faith then by his son
And Jesus followed by the aspiring master

18. Aspiring away from the world, migrating, fleeing
To Allah while the torrents were gushing

19. From the verdant Basra cutting through the villages
Joining the lands the hills had deprived

20. Until he reached the blessed valley, accepting it
Extending in it his tent ropes for encampment

21. Therein he resided and settled
With a progeny disciplined by the reins

22. Of piety, righteousness and noble traits
Generous, dignified, succeeded by generous

23. With them the valley became friendly and inhabited
Safeguarded without need for swords

24. And came Ubaydullah tirelessly inspired
By his father the exalted, reaching every loftiness

25. And he followed their tracks, their Alawis
And their Basris, his grandfather the embodiment of piety and peace

26. Thus continuously his grandfather, guardian of his time
Upholding sublimely the sanctities of Shariah

27. And there came Jamal al-Din succeeding his father
And the succeeding Alawi with ambitions

28. Oh Sheikh, may Allah return his greeting
Thus he would pray continuously

29. The sheikh of the lodge, imam and congregator
Whose roots branched into every imam

30. He brought us Noor al-Din then his most virtuous
Generous son, like clouds heavy with rain

31. The possessor of light and secrets, the lord of Bayhir
Surrounded from the harm of all sin

32. With the mystic Sqaf, eminent Sheikh
And firmly established pole who attained every station

33. And with the pride and noble-born, most generous lords
Guides and rightly-guided paving the ways of peace

34. And with the Idris our teacher, and with his descendent
The knowledgeable guide to the glorious path

35. They are the prophet’s heirs and kin
He preferred them despite the hostile

36. They are our inheritance, in us is their knowledge
And their secrets – let doubter inquire!

37. If he comes in truth which is the ladder
To every good, he will attain his wishes

38. So much wisdom from them, and judgment and how much
Principles vanquishing tyrannous schemes

39. They want to extinguish with their deceitful mouths
The lamps of light that erased the darkness

40. Of past and future generations we mentioned
The generous succeeded by the generous

41. We follow their path and way
Wronging not their right in the least

42. Admitting to falling short of their glory
And good endeavor at every station

43. But they are our forefathers and roots
And predecessors who departed in peace

44. Among us is an imam who when he emerges
Will establish Allah’s order, the best establishment

45. Filling it with truth, justice and guidance
As it was filled with injustice by oppressors

46. When he rises we too will rise, and may our Master
Support him at the time of trial

47. And if not, we hope that the branches
Of the protected lineage will support him

48. To Allah belong praise and thanks and beauty of praise
For constant blessings and bounty

49. We ask our Lord blessed is His name
For steadfastness, support and goodly end

50. It is complete, may Allah send his purest prayers
Upon Ahmad whenever clouds cluster and rain

51. However much the leaves rustled on the bough of Doha
And lightning flashed from Najd’s wings of darkness

52. And upon his family, companions and all who followed
In righteousness, piety and holding firmly the reins
