1. You are you, the beloved of my heart
And my purpose in existence, my contentment

2. When I find you, my life is blissful
And my worries, sorrows, and troubles cease

3. Time becomes gentle, reviving
All that was dead in me, easing my hardships

4. Honor me with your nearness and connection
O my remedy for every malady and pain

5. O tranquility in my inner self and heart
Not in the deserts, highlands, nor hills

6. Love and affection for you fill my heart
Since ancient times before water and soil

7. And when I remember you, delight spreads
And my soul rests in intimacy and nearness

8. So accept me as your servant and guest
As your companion, poor and yearning

9. Answering the call of Truth when it calls you
The caller of Truth, best of Arab and non-Arab

10. Praise be to the Best of Creation
Master of Messengers, beloved of my Lord

11. Blessings from God upon him
And upon the best of kin and companions

12. Wherever light has shone or breeze blown
Or a cloud has risen above a hilltop
