1. He started reciting it to the tunes of his songs, and the night was pitch dark,
A gentle breeze stirred branches, with a glance that allured,

2. And a sweet smelling aroma, a honeyed drink,
It stood, adorned with wreaths of roses and crowns,

3. Amongst a branch that sways, and a rod that bends,
Before the voices of the flutes, and the chirping of poultry,

4. When the red camels approached, gleaming in glassware,
And he saw in the house, lanterns like lamps,

5. He thought it was a flame, so he protected it with care,
Oh gazelle, I have no remedy for my love in my hands,

6. I don’t see my heart cured of love for you while I live,
If we get a house after getting close and mixing,

7. Nights tend to gently change into stingers,
How much false hope makes my heart ache,

8. And to how much despair am I circling around,
How often does my temperament meet vile morals,

9. Riding despite injustice and stubbornness,
His days wore betrayal’s clothes, the cheater,

10. He didn’t know I seek the companion of religion’s glory,
The leader of conquest over the warring Arabs,

11. Spreader of justice over the poor and needy,
Balanced on the day of gifts, a lion on the day of battle,

12. In the name of the most high, apparent over all banners,
Oh rider, beware of dangers and clashes,

13. Crossing piles of dead bodies, between travel and fatigue,
For the hypocrite’s talk in his chest, what suffering,

14. He sees no shelter for the dew, sought by the pilgrim,
Don’t be straitened by worries, every worry shall pass,

15. Settle in Abi Al Fadl’s quarter, the best place to settle,
And avoid his sweet springs, the bitter paths,

16. Oh generous one, his generosity has no shortcoming,
Calm settled in your time, after turmoil,

17. You purified the channel of kingship, after crookedness,
With noble acts, and edges of glass,

18. So it became by your view, like a fortress built with reinforced concrete,
You cured an era, that was without remedy,

19. That used to complain before your management, of ill temper,
And the mother of generosity became perfected, after deficiency,

20. So she is today, while she was barren, now fruitful,
Live days of celebration, in delight and elation,

21. And remain what the dawn heralded, with smiles and elation,
And make the intentions of your enemies, objectives of the confused.
