1. O Lord, how You have tested me with a gang
Who have no merit or generosity

2. Of discordant traits, the slanderer speaks truly of them
And hopes are belied in them

3. Prosperity has covered their flaws, and how much
Evil is covered by wealth

4. Cowards, never seek their help in adversity
Stingy, never seek from them generosity

5. Their faces are but façades upon their money
And without it, their palms are locks

6. In ease, when you gain a blessing, they are kin
In hardship, they are strangers
