1. I addressed the chief Abu Ali
About the rule of brotherhood without propriety

2. So I have a right that I give to him
And I know he is of unfailing resolve

3. And say, my master, my determination is sound
And my words are those of the people of virtue

4. I fast fifty days for your fasting
And I abstain from all forbidden vices

5. I avoid meat not by need
But by duty and devotion

6. And I voluntarily leave, without excuse
Drinking alcohol, agreeing with you

7. Until the days gather my group
Between Batiya and Jam

8. And we spend it repenting
Like the horns of the sun in the darkness of night

9. For concessions have agreement
Among the poets in this regard

10. Especially since this is a year of dearth
Drought followed drought this year

11. Tomorrow the face of the rain clouds will frown
And sorrows of clouds grew firm in it

12. And Muslims and Christians became
Alike in abstaining and fasting in it

13. And if you complete with forgiveness and restraint
By your generosity, without flaw

14. You will gain sincere praise from me
And be safe from any blame

15. And if you pave the way to excuse my burden
That is of your noble traits

16. And for the glad tidings I have strong hope
But this is not the time for talk
