A joy and fruit that never palls

3. You sent it like maidens' cheeks
Whose blushes their veils reveal

4. Pure as your reputation, kindled
Like the flames of your intellect

5. Through its pages we saw
The faces of girls behind their veils

6. I envied that it might be won
Without a lustful glance

7. And likened it to its sender's palm
Which only kisses suit
