The gloom of fate has taken from us noble spirits -

A soul that gilded rough events with radiant calm -

13. When perils passed it rose majestic, proud and tall.

14. Unsullied by dishonor or the world's contagion -
Pure, uncorrupted, shunning vileness, shunning gall.

Himself in musk, when he's untouched by any drench.
