5. And I was content with Harran as her home, though
She yearned but could not reach it, however far she traveled

6. And I hoped your noble qualities would be kind to me, but
Neither has iron become soft nor steel flexible

7. To you came a beauty of glorious stock
The like of which no guide would be ashamed

10. You spurned her with disdain though never

12. Return my rejected praises to me
For separation from one unworthy is best

Who will welcome them and me affectionately

14. By the divorce of captivity, Basimโs name
