1. If the splendour of judges were to be unveiled
Their days would be adorned through the agency of Ibn Sawwar

2. A hero who scowls at opponents with utterance
Of anger and carries the burden of authority

3. Royal courts are graced by him as is
A fair hand graced by a bracelet

4. Thus shall I elevate the worth of Shurayh
And thereby make glad the nobility over all
