1. What fire has flared in my heart,
What wounds have my skin insufficient to bear,
2. What misfortune has time afflicted me with,
Too feeble am I now to ward it off from you.
3. If ruin takes its toll upon you tomorrow,
Then grief's authority reigns in my body.
4. What modesty, beauty and virtue,
Were gathered and buried in the grave!
5. My father, absent from my sight,
Yet present forever in my memory.
6. I shall prolong the days of grief for
The companion of the brief, finite life.
