Dispelled the distress in my eyes

2. And restored the days of joy
When you returned, as you began them

3. My eyelids were thirsty for the radiance of your face
So let them drink their fill, quenched by its glow

4. Since you left, Iโve known no comfort
In sleep, nor heard musicโs tones

5. And Baghdad grew desolate without you
When you went far from it

6. Its joy left, vegetation withered
And its brightness turned to gloom

ููุญู ููุจุชููุง ููุฏูุฌู ุถูุญุงูุง
7. Until its mornings were indistinguishable
From its evenings without you

ูู ุตูุจุงุญููุง ูููู ู

ูุณุงูุง
8. You bid it farewell in emptiness
And it lost all its adornments

ูุช ุญููุงูุง
9. Its horizons grew dark when you were gone
But you returned and illuminated them

ุชู ููููุฑู ููุฌูููู ููุฏ ุฌููุงูุง
10. Like a splendid night when darkness
Prevails over its brightness

ูุงูู ุงููููุงุฑู ุนููู ุฏูุฌุงูุง
11. Today it dawned, scented with you
Its air is fragrant, its meadows verdant

ุจููู ุฌูููููุง ุนูุจููุงู ุซูุฑุงูุง
12. Your blessings stretched over its groves
And settled in its gardens

ุงูู ุณุง
ุจูุบู ุธูููููุง ููุญููุง ุฌููุงูุง
13. The withered boughs grew green again
At your call, and the plains donned green

ุจูููุฏุงูู ููุงูุฎุถููููุช ุฑูุจุงูุง
14. The dates were nearly destroyed
By your long absence
ูกูค. ูุงุฏูุช ุชูู
ูุฑู ููููุฏ ุนูุฑุง
ูุง ู
ูู ููุฑุงูููู ู
ุง ุนูุฑุงูุง
15. But the splendor of the faith revived them
And strengthened their resources
ูกูฅ. ููููู ุชูุฏุงุฑููููุง ุจููุง
ุกู ุงูุฏููู ููุงูุดุชูุฏููุช ูููุงูุง
16. It held calamity back from its dwellers
And protected them with its might
ูกูฆ. ุฐุงุฏู ุงูุฑูุฏู ุนูู ุฐููุฏููุง

17. It gave governance its due right
When caring for the flock
ูกูง. ุฃูุนุทู ุงูุณููุงุณูุฉู ูููุฑูุนูู

ูุง ุฑูุนุงูุง
18. A fitting one, when critical affairs
Are entrusted to him, manages them

ุชู ุงูุฃูู
ูุฑู ุจููู ูููุงูุง
19. You made him wrathful when misfortune
Touched it, to fend it off
ูกูฉ. ูููููุฏุชููู ุนูุถุจุงู ุฅูุฐุง

ูุณูู ุงูุฎูุทูุจู ุจููู ุจูุฑุงูุง
20. And he followed the exemplary path you set out
Never straying into error

21. With resolute determination like the stars
Never wavering from their course

ุชูุชูุนูุฏูู ูู ุดูุจููู ุฃูุจุงูุง
22. Humbly yielding to you, his face
Ever turned to you in devotion

ูู ุจูููุฌูููู ูููู ุงูุงูุชููุฌุงูุง
23. Never deviating from the righteous path
To your supremacy, nor transgressing it

ูู ุฅููู ุนููุงู ูููุง ุนูุฏุงูุง
24. O pinnacle of glory which the victorious
Strive to attain

ูุฌุฏู ุงูููุฐู
ุดูุฑููู ุงูู
ูุธููููุฑู ู
ููุชููุงูุง
25. O band of kingship which the Caliph
Chose and approved

ูููู ุงูููุชู ุงูุฎ
ุชุงุฑู ุงูุฎูููููุฉู ููุงูุฑุชูุถุงูุง
26. Charging the breach of injustice
When war spins its cycle
ูขูฆ. ุงูุทุงุนููู ุซูุบุฑู ุงูุนูุฏู
ููุงูุญูุฑุจู ููุฏ ุฏุงุฑูุช ุฑูุญุงูุง
27. The swords complain of shortness to them
So they make their blades longer

28. With Muhammad its foundations of glory were laid
And the height of its edifice constructed

ูุฌุฏููุง ููุนููุง ุจููุงูุง
29. A king who, when eras deteriorate,
Adorns them with his vitality

ุซู ุฌูุฏูุฏู ุฑูููููููุง ููุณุงูุง
30. He spent his wealthโs treasuries
And acquired glory, making it his own

ููุดูุฑู ุงูู
ูุญุงู
ูุฏู ููุงููุชููุงูุง
31. He tamed affairs, so they submitted
To his firm handling, bending to his will

ูุฑู ููุฃูุตุจูุญูุช
ุทููุนู ุงูุฃูุฒูู
ููุฉู ููุงูู
ุทูุทุงูุง
32. No issue was too hard for him
Except that he found its solution

ูู ููุถูููุฉู ุฅูููุง ูููุงูุง
33. He spends the miles, riding, when
The steeds exhaust their distances

ูุฏุงูุง
34. O you whose palm the clouds
Learned generosity from its openness

35. Pouring abundant rains on the needy
Watering life's pasture

ููุจูุฌูุณุงู ุญููุงูุง
36. In hearts you have a love
That remains constant, its bond unbroken

ูุญูุจููุฉู
ุซูุจูุชูุช ููููู
ุชููููุซ ูููุงูุง
37. As though you were created from their conscience
And their deepest affections

38. And as if their loving you
Was the nature He imbued them with
