1. Tell the sun of the state, the son of Muhammad,
And do not be shy, convey what I remember,

2. Do you meet me every day with an excuse
And apology? Have the apologies narrowed on you?

3. Are you not ashamed of the excess of your procrastination
So you fulfill, and I am not tired of patience?

4. Is there no end to the ill-omened appointments for you
And no last to the procrastination according to you?

5. I postponed the request due to an excuse,
Is there no deterrent in yourself?

6. So do not make excuses that you are incapable,
For if you wanted to fulfill, you would be capable,

7. It is no shame for the generous to spend the night
In poverty while honor is pure white,

8. But it is shameful to say he disappoints
his request or breaches the covenant, a traitor,

9. That would not say so if you fulfilled it, a slanderer,
Nor would I, if you delayed it, be harmed,

10. Debt is humiliation and disgrace for the youth,
So disdain to be made servile by a poet,

11. May Allah destroy one who does not sacrifice wealth for it
And does not acquire a grateful, thankful friend,

12. Will you not buy my gratitude with my money and fold me,
While your effort is appreciated and your wealth abundant?

13. You will know, if you ponder the thought of a scholar,
Which of the two parties is the loser?

14. Otherwise, patience is excellent treasure,
I know that reproach to you is lost,

15. But it comforts the soul and makes excuses.
