1. Deliver from me to Imād al-Dīn
And kiss the ground when you see him

2. Describe my longing, and convey my greetings
And pray well for him as reward

3. Say: O best of people in spirit
And forefathers, and most generous in breadth

4. I have sent Abu al-Futuh to you, so sit
With him, and raise the veil for his arrival

5. Increase your hospitality and nearness to him
And make him drink from your sweet springs

6. And respect the rights of his sender long ago
And hasten what you can bring back to him

7. For he has come to you from a distant land
After the riding animals and mounts grew weary

8. I have sent him to you as a messenger
And sealed for him the letter

9. I have entrusted him on condition that he
Does not leave the court's door for an hour

10. And take a pledge from Kamāl al-Dīn
That you will not favor in governance

11. Until he recovers all my debt
And receives it in full, to the last thread

12. Sitting, awaiting the answer
To see the outcome of my affair

13. Whether my thinking misses or hits the mark
Either I will include in my poetry for you

14. Praise or blame
