1. Let not the tying of amulets bar you from seeking good,
Nor let sneezing, nor the flight of birds over you avail.

2. Truly, I have ceased going forth early in the day against ill-omened days;
For days of ill-omen are like days of good-omen, and days like omens.

3. Thus there is neither lasting good nor evil for anyone.
That is inscribed on ancient heavenly tablets.
