1. Blessings and peace, fragrant and pure
Upon Ahmad, distinguished with the Night Journey and prophethood

2. No sooner did the voice of censure roar
Toward the one whose love is incumbent upon me and my creed

3. Upon him is God's peace at every glance
Whenever the light of sun rises and its unseen is unveiled

4. I sent him from me a fragrant greeting
And a token of longing with my perfumed love

5. With a wink of pure, subtle greetings when
The morning breeze blows at night when it blows from tombs

6. So I truly have a beloved whom I bade farewell
In the manner of Bani Sa'd, pure and fragrant

7. I remembered a passionate and enamored youth
In the covenant of youth that has poured unto love

8. Do you and the goodness of character know him
And oh morning breeze, by God, did it inform you

9. And you, breeze of the dawn, by God, any news
Of what transpired in the confused night and what it informed

10. I have a beloved whom I ransom
I sought union but he refused and declined

11. I told him I'm an enamored lover
I complained of my state but he turned away and poured not

12. I came to him, humiliated and obedient
If only he would be gentle for the union and grant

13. I pointed to the pebbles in my palm that glorified him
And the full moon split in two halves for him

14. For him God made the inanimate speak
And the beasts and animals speak at length

15. The prophet of mankind with truth and loyalty
A chosen, delivered, close confidant

16. And his glory surpassed both Arabs and non-Arabs
And the master of Makhzoum, Nimr, and Taghlib

17. And our recollection of a single full moon describing him
At Hunayn and the beloved did not express at length

18. Of the manifest miracles when it was shining
Upon them with pebbles and the defeated crowd was boasting

19. There Abu Jahl realized his ignorance
Mentioned when he was exceedingly arrogant and lying

20. Mentioned when by the sword the head of
His companion Ibn Masoud was struck, so wow at God

21. Swiftly the wailing women wailed over him
Over him the sobbing elegists at Dhi Qarn lamented

22. He was sent by the Singular King as succor and mercy
And we were protected by him in truth and he granted and gifted more

23. We came with truthful witnesses of him for him
So he legislated sunnah for us and made it obligation and more worthy

24. And his way of life we enjoy for eternity
For us like an encompassing model of glory and creed

25. Upon him is God’s blessing whenever lightning flashes
And whenever basil is verdant and meadows grow grass

26. And whenever a branch in the gardens sways
And whenever the winds blow or a planet appears

27. Greetings and peace, fragrant and diffusing
Musk and flowers sweeter than the finest musk

28. And upon his family and companions since
The youth blew and affection knocked and awoke
