1. With praise to Allah, I begin my discourse
And start systematically with it this book

ูก. ุจูุญูŽู…ุฏู ุงู„ู„ูŽู‡ู ุฃูŽูุชูŽุชูุญู ุงู„ุฎูุทุงุจุง
ูˆูŽุฃูŽุจุฏุฃ ููŠ ุงู„ู†ูุธุงู… ุจูู‡ู ุงู„ูƒูุชุงุจุง

2. Perhaps Allah will enable me to attain my hopes
And open for me gladly a door

ูข. ู„ูŽุนูŽู„ู‘ ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ ูŠูุจู„ูุบู†ูŠ ุงู„ุฃูŽู…ุงู†ูŠ
ูˆูŽูŠูŽูุชุญ ุจูุงู„ุณูุฑูˆุฑ ุนูŽู„ูŠู‘ูŽ ุจุงุจุง

3. And guide me to an accurate conveyance
And provide for me the proper words

ูฃ. ูˆูŽูŠูุฑุดูุฏูู†ูŠ ุฅูู„ู‰ ู†ูŽู‚ู„ู ุตูŽุญูŠุญู
ูˆูŽูŠูŽุฑุฒูู‚ู†ูŠ ู…ูู† ุงู„ู‚ูŽูˆู„ ุงู„ุตูŽูˆุงุจุง

4. He is the King who created all creatures
And shaped them while they were dust

ูค. ู‡ููˆูŽ ุงู„ู…ูŽู„ููƒู ุงู„ู‘ูŽุฐูŠ ุฎูŽู„ูŽู‚ ุงู„ุจูŽุฑุงูŠุง
ูˆูŽุตูŽูˆู‘ุฑู‡ู… ูˆูŽู‚ูŽุฏ ูƒุงู†ูˆุง ุชูุฑุงุจุง

5. A single God, living, willful
Knowing, capable, generous in his bounty

ูฅ. ุฅูู„ุงู‡ูŒ ูˆูŽุงุญูุฏูŒ ุญูŽูŠู‘ูŒ ู…ุฑูŠุฏูŒ
ุนูŽู„ูŠู…ูŒ ู‚ุงุฏุฑูŒ ุจูุงู„ุฌูˆุฏ ุญุงุจู‰

6. He sees the trace of an ant when it walks
And cuts through the dark, silent night

ูฆ. ูŠูŽุฑู‰ ุฃูŽุซูŽุฑ ุงู„ู†ู‘ู…ูŽูŠู„ูŽุฉ ุญูŠู†ูŽ ุชูŽู…ุดูŠ
ูˆูŽุชู‚ุทูŽุน ููŠ ุงู„ุฏูุฌู‰ ุงู„ุตู…ู‘ ุงู„ุตู„ุงุจุง

7. And hears it when it crawls upon Him
While the wings of night have become like crows

ูง. ูˆูŽูŠูŽุณู…ูŽุนูู‡ุง ุฅูุฐุง ุฏูŽุจู‘ุช ุนูŽู„ูŽูŠู‡
ูˆูŽุฌูู†ุญู ุงู„ู„ูŽูŠู„ ู‚ูŽุฏ ุฃูŽู…ุณู‰ ุบูุฑุงุจุง

8. He transcends, loftily, the attributes of creatures
Though attribution of description is allowed to Him

ูจ. ุชู‚ุฏู‘ุณ ุนูŽู† ุตููุงุช ุงู„ุฎูŽู„ู‚ ุทุฑู‘ุงู‹
ูˆูŽุฅูู† ูŠูุนุฒู‰ ู„ูŽู‡ู ุงู„ูˆูŽุตู ุงููƒุชูุณุงุจุง

9. He encompasses in knowledge what the seven spheres contain
If He were called upon, He would answer readily

ูฉ. ูŠูุญููŠุทู ุจุนู„ู… ู…ุง ุชูŽุญูˆููŠ ุนูŽู„ูŽูŠู‡
ุทูุจุงู‚ู ุงู„ุณูŽุจุน ุฅูู† ุฏูุนููŠูŽ ุงูุณุชุฌุงุจุง

10. And knows in the seven earths a knowledge
That encompasses numbering their pebbles in count

ูกู . ูˆูŽูŠูŽุนู„ู…ู ููŠ ุงู„ุฃูŽุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ุณูŽุจุน ุนู„ู…ุงู‹
ูŠูุญูŠุทู ุจูุนูŽุฏู‘ ุญูŽุตุจูŽุงู‡ุง ุญูุณุงุจุง

11. Why not, when it was He who created us graciously
And promised us the beautiful rewards

ูกูก. ูˆูŽู„ู… ู„ุง ูˆูŽู‡ูˆูŽ ุฃูŽู†ุดุฃู†ุง ุงูู…ุชูู†ุงู†ุงู‹
ูˆูŽูˆุงุนูุฏู†ุง ุนูŽู„ู‰ ุงู„ุญูุณู†ู‰ ุงู„ู…ูŽุซุงุจุง

12. And created in the sky constellations for us
And clothed them in their adornment and raiment

ูกูข. ูˆูŽุฃูŽู†ุดุฃ ููŠ ุงู„ุณูŽู…ุงุก ู„ูŽู†ุง ุจูุฑููˆุฌุงู‹
ูˆูŽุฃูŽู„ุจูŽุณูŽู‡ุง ุจูุฒูŠู†ุชู‡ุง ุซููŠุงุจุง

13. And set in motion the sun, then the moon amongst them
And subjugated with the winds for us the clouds

ูกูฃ. ูˆูŽุฃูŽุฌุฑู‰ ุงู„ุดูŽู…ุณูŽ ุซูู…ู‘ูŽ ุงู„ุจูŽุฏุฑ ููŠู‡ุง
ูˆูŽุณูŽุฎู‘ุฑูŽ ุจูุงู„ุฑู‘ูŠุงุญ ู„ูŽู†ุง ุณูŽุญุงุจุง

14. To water a dead land with heavy downpour
Yearning with life, intent, pouring down

ูกูค. ู„ูุชูŽุณู‚ูŠ ุจูŽู„ุฏุฉู‹ ู…ูŽูŠุชุงู‹ ุจูุบูŽูŠุซู
ู‡ูŽู…ููˆู„ู ุจูุงู„ุญูŽูŠุงุฉ ู‡ูŽู…ู‰ ูˆูŽุตุงุจุง

15. And set flowing springs in its expanse
Gushing forth, and valleys, punishment

ูกูฅ. ูˆูŽุฃูŽุฌุฑู‰ ููŠ ุจูŽุณูŠุทุชู‡ุง ุนููŠููˆู†ุงู‹
ู…ุฏูู‘ู‚ุฉู‹ ูˆูŽุฃูŽูˆุฏูŠุฉู‹ ุนูุฐุงุจุง

16. And sent amongst mankind a messenger
An intercessor, the Chosen One, reciting the Book

ูกูฆ. ูˆูŽุฃูŽุฑุณูŽู„ ููŠ ุงู„ูˆูŽุฑู‰ ู…ูู†ู‡ูู… ุฑูŽุณูˆู„ุงู‹
ุดูŽููŠุนุงู‹ ู…ูุตุทูŽูู‰ ูŠูŽุชู„ูˆ ุงู„ูƒูุชุงุจุง

17. Muhammad, the chosen prophet, from
The lineage of Hashim, thus the origin is pure

ูกูง. ู…ูุญู…ู‘ูŽุฏูŒ ุงู„ู†ูŽุจูŠู‘ู ุงู„ู…ูุฌุชูŽุจู‰ ู…ูู†
ุณูู„ุงู„ุฉ ู‡ุงุดู…ู ููŽุงู„ุฃูŽุตู„ ุทุงุจุง

18. And his Master enabled him on a night journey
With Gabriel taking him on his steed

ูกูจ. ูˆูŽู‚ูŽุฏ ุฃูŽุณุฑู‰ ุจูู‡ู ู…ูŽูˆู„ุงู‡ ู„ูŽูŠู„ุงู‹
ูˆูŽุฌุจุฑูŠู„ูŒ ู„ูŽู‡ู ุฃูŽุฎูŽุฐูŽ ุงู„ุฑูƒุงุจุง

19. He drew near to the Most High Court, dangled
And attained nearness, thus becoming near

ูกูฉ. ุฏูŽู†ุง ู…ูู† ุญูŽุถุฑุฉ ุงู„ุนูŽู„ูŠุง ุชูŽุฏู„ู‘ู‰
ูˆูŽุญุงุฒูŽ ุงู„ู‚ูุฑุจ ู…ูู†ู‡ู ููŽูƒุงู†ูŽ ู‚ุงุจุง

20. Upon him, blessings from the Lord of the Throne continue
For all time, making us inherit rewards

ูขู . ุนูŽู„ูŽูŠู‡ู ุตูŽู„ุงุฉ ุฑูŽุจู‘ ุงู„ุนูŽุฑุด ุชูŽุชุฑู‰
ู…ูŽุฏู‰ ุงู„ุฃูŽูŠู‘ุงู… ุชูˆุฑูุซูู†ุง ุงู„ุซูŽูˆุงุจุง

21. No clouds drew with the rain of al-Muzn
Where flowers mixed with flowers on hills

ูขูก. ูˆูŽู…ุง ุณูŽุญู‘ุช ุจูู…ุงุก ุงู„ู…ูุฒู† ุณูุญุจูŒ
ููŽุญู„ู‘ู‰ ุงู„ุฒูŽู‡ุฑู ุจูุงู„ุฒูŽู‡ุฑู ุงู„ู‡ูุถุงุจุง

22. He is the one sent giving us good tidings
From the Master, and warning of punishment

ูขูข. ู‡ููˆูŽ ุงู„ู…ูŽุจุนูˆุซ ุจุดู‘ุฑูŽู†ุง ุจูุจูุดุฑู‰
ู…ูู† ุงู„ู…ูŽูˆู„ู‰ ูˆูŽุฃูŽู†ุฐูŽุฑูŽู†ุง ุงู„ุนูู‚ุงุจุง

23. And urging us to kill the enemies
Where we straiten upon them hills or mountain paths

ูขูฃ. ูˆูŽุญูŽุฑู‘ุถู†ุง ุนูŽู„ู‰ ู‚ูŽุชู„ ุงู„ุฃูŽุนุงุฏูŠ
ู†ุถูŠู‚ู ุจูู‡ู… ุชูู„ุงู„ุงู‹ ุฃูŽูˆ ุดูุนุงุจุง

24. And expend in the jihad against disbelief ourselves
And wealth we accumulated through earnings

ูขูค. ูˆูŽู†ูŽุจุฐูู„ู ููŠ ุฌูู‡ุงุฏ ุงู„ูƒููุฑ ู†ูŽูุณุงู‹
ูˆูŽู…ุงู„ุงู‹ ู‚ูŽุฏ ุฌูŽู…ูŽุนู†ุงู‡ ุงููƒุชูุณุงุจุง

25. Thus believed him Abu Bakr the loyal
And next Abu Hafs their support

ูขูฅ. ูุตุฏู‘ู‚ู‡ ุฃูŽุจูˆ ุจูƒุฑ ุนูŽุชูŠู‚ูŒ
ูˆูŽุซุงู†ูŠู‡ ุฃูŽุจูˆ ุญูุตู ุฃูŽุฌุงุจุง

26. And third amongst them Abu `Amr, and fulfilled
Abu Hasan blows or strikes loyally

ูขูฆ. ูˆูŽุซุงู„ุซู‡ู… ุฃูŽุจูˆ ุนู…ุฑููˆ ูˆูŽูˆูŽูู‘ู‰
ุฃูŽุจูˆ ุญุณู†ู ุทูุนุงู†ุงู‹ ุฃูŽูˆ ุถุฑุงุจุง

27. They are the four caliphs who united
Upon Islam, protection and veil

ูขูง. ู‡ูู… ุงู„ุฎูู„ูŽูุงุก ุฃูŽุฑุจูŽุนุฉูŒ ุชูŽูˆุงุตูŽูˆุง
ุนูŽู„ู‰ ุงู„ุฅูุณู„ุงู… ุตูŽูˆู†ุงู‹ ูˆูŽุงูุญุชูุฌุงุจุง

28. And the best ten pleased with them
Named, and the most sublime amongst them Ibn `Awf

ูขูจ. ูˆูŽุจุงู‚ูŠ ุงู„ุนูŽุดุฑูŽุฉู ุงู„ู…ูŽุฑุถููŠู‘ ุนูŽู†ู‡ูู…
ุณู…ูˆุง ูˆูŽุนูŽู„ุง ุงุจู†ู ุนูŽูˆููู‡ู… ุงู„ุดูู‡ุงุจุง

29. Sa`id and Ibn Jarrฤh and Sa`d
Zubayr, Talhah, they were noble companions

ูขูฉ. ุณูŽุนูŠุฏูŒ ูˆูŽุงูุจู† ุฌุฑู‘ุงุญู ูˆูŽุณูŽุนุฏ
ุฒูุจูŽูŠุฑ ุทูŽู„ุญุฉ ูƒูŽุฑูู…ูˆุง ุตูุญุงุจุง

30. They pledged allegiance to the Chosen One truly
Never to be wronged or harmed

ูฃู . ู‡ูู… ู‚ูŽุฏ ุจุงูŠูŽุนูˆุง ุงู„ู…ูุฎุชุงุฑ ุญูŽู‚ู‘ุงู‹
ุนูŽู„ู‰ ุฃูŽู† ู„ุง ูŠูุถุงู… ูˆูŽู„ุง ูŠูุตุงุจุง

31. And that their souls be sacrificed to protect
The religion of God, far and near

ูฃูก. ูˆูŽุฃูŽู† ุชูŽูู†ู‰ ู†ูููˆุณูู‡ูู… ุงูุญุชูู…ุงุกู‹
ู„ูุฏูŠู† ุงู„ู„ูŽู‡ ุจูุนุฏุงู‹ ูˆูŽุงูู‚ุชูุฑุงุจุง

32. And they did strive in God truly
And marched through the enemies' throngs

ูฃูข. ูˆูŽู‡ูู… ู‚ูŽุฏ ุฌุงู‡ูŽุฏูˆุง ููŠ ุงู„ู„ูŽู‡ู ุญูŽู‚ู‘ุงู‹
ูˆูŽุณู„ู‘ูˆุง ููŠ ุนุฏุงุชู‡ู… ุงู„ุฐู‘ุจุงุจุง

33. Upon them, the Mercy of the Merciful fills
With light from their spacious tombs

ูฃูฃ. ุนูŽู„ูŽูŠู‡ู… ุฑูŽุญู…ุฉ ุงู„ุฑูŽุญู…ู† ุชูŽู…ู„ุง
ุจูู†ูˆุฑ ู…ูู† ู‚ูุจูˆุฑู‡ู… ุงู„ุฑุญุงุจุง

34. For they were distinct, and through those who followed them
Hidden light appeared and disappeared

ูฃูค. ููŽู‚ูŽุฏ ุจุงู†ููˆุง ูˆูŽุจุงู†ูŽ ู…ู†ู ุงูู‚ุชูŽูุงู‡ู…
ุฎูŽูู‰ ู†ูˆุฑูŒ ุจูŽุฏุง ู…ูู†ู‡ูู… ูˆูŽุบุงุจุง

35. And after them religion became disgraced
And downtrodden and dishonored, stricken

ูฃูฅ. ูˆูŽุนุงุฏูŽ ุงู„ุฏู‘ูŠู† ุจูŽุนุฏูŽู‡ูู… ุญูŽู‚ูŠุฑุงู‹
ูˆูŽู…ูู†ุณุญูู‚ุงู‹ ูˆูŽู…ูู…ุชูŽู‡ูŽู†ุงู‹ ู…ูุตุงุจุง

36. And in our furthest West it became a stranger
So what a religion that becomes exiled!

ูฃูฆ. ูˆูŽุตุงุฑูŽ ุจูุบุฑุจูู†ุง ุงู„ุฃูŽู‚ุตู‰ ุบูŽุฑูŠุจุงู‹
ููŽูŠุง ู„ูู„ุฏูŠู† ูŠูŽุบุชุฑุจ ุงูุบุชูุฑุงุจุง

37. And no jihad against enemies was known
Where the people of the land may be granted reward

ูฃูง. ูˆูŽู„ูŽู… ูŠูุนู„ูŽู… ุฌูู‡ุงุฏูŒ ู„ูู„ุฃูŽุนุงุฏูŠ
ุจูู‡ุง ุฐูŠ ุงู„ุฃูŽุฑุถ ูŠูุญุชุณุจู ุงูุญุชูุณุงุจุง

38. Until the Merciful opened through it
For Yaqub ibn `Abd al-Haqq a door

ูฃูจ. ุฅูู„ู‰ ุฃูŽู† ูุชู‘ุญ ุงู„ุฑูŽุญู…ู†ู ููŠู‡ู
ู„ููŠูŽุนู‚ูˆุจ ุจู†ู ุนูŽุจุฏ ุงู„ุญูŽู‚ู‘ ุจุงุจุง

39. For our master the just king
Through him the hand of disbelief withdrew in defeat

ูฃูฉ. ู„ูู…ูŽูˆู„ุงู†ุง ุฃูŽู…ูŠุฑ ุงู„ุนูŽุฏู„ ู…ูู„ูƒ
ุจูู‡ู ุงูู†ุณูŽู„ูŽุจุช ูŠูŽุฏู ุงู„ูƒููุฑ ุงูู†ุณูู„ุงุจุง

40. And before him we did not see a king
Who showed us in war such wondrous marvels

ูคู . ูˆูŽู„ูŽู… ู†ูŽุฑูŽ ู‚ูŽุจู„ูŽู‡ู ููŠ ุงู„ุนูŽุตุฑ ู…ูŽู„ูƒุงู‹
ุฃูŽุฑุงู†ุง ููŠ ุงู„ุนูุฏุง ุงู„ุนูŽุฌุจ ุงู„ุนูุฌุงุจุง

41. So Allah granted him success in it
And the intention of his truth righteousness in reward

ูคูก. ููŽู‡ูŽู†ู‘ุฃู‡ ุงู„ุฅูู„ู‡ ุงู„ุณูŽุนุฏูŽ ููŠู‡ู
ูˆูŽู†ูŠู‘ุฉูŽ ุตูุฏู‚ูู‡ู ุจูุฑู‘ุงู‹ ุฃูŽุซุงุจุง

42. He called unto Allah a hopeful call
To his Master in prayer readily answered

ูคูข. ุฏูŽุนุง ู„ูู„ู‘ู‡ ุฏูŽุนูˆุฉูŽ ู…ูุทู…ุฆู†ู‘ู
ู„ูู…ูŽูˆู„ุงู‡ ุฏูุนุงุกู‹ ู…ูุณุชูŽุฌุงุจุง

43. So Allah responded to his prayer and ordained
For him the best, sparing him ordeals

ูคูฃ. ููŽู„ูŽุจู‘ู‰ ุงู„ู„ูŽู‡ู ุฏูŽุนูˆูŽุชู‡ ูˆูŽุณู†ู‘ู‰
ู„ูŽู‡ู ุงู„ุญูุณู†ู‰ ูˆูŽุฌูŽู†ู‘ุจู‡ ุงู„ุตูุนุงุจุง

44. And he crossed the sea frequently, determined,
Leading to the enemy the battle steeds

ูคูค. ููŽุฌุงุฒูŽ ุงู„ุจูŽุญุฑ ู…ูุฌุชูŽู‡ูุฏุงู‹ ู…ูุฑุงุฑุงู‹
ูŠูŽู‚ูˆุฏ ุฅูู„ู‰ ุงู„ุนูุฏุง ุงู„ุฎูŽูŠู„ ุงู„ุนูุฑุงุจุง

45. And made their kingdom disgraced
Through which the realms were awed and shook

ูคูฅ. ููŽุฃูŽู„ุจูŽุณ ู…ู„ูƒู‡ู… ุฐู„ู‘ุงู‹ ูˆูŽุตุงุฑูŽุช
ุจูู‡ู ุงู„ุฃูŽู…ู„ุงูƒ ุชูŽุฑุชู‡ุจ ุงูุฑุชูู‡ุงุจุง

46. Beyond crossing the land of Portugal magnificence
Increasing through it favor and pride

ูคูฆ. ุฃูŽุจูŽุนุฏูŽ ุฌูŽูˆุงุฒ ุฃูŽุฑุถ ุงู„ุจูุฑุซ ููŽุฎุฑูŒ
ุชูŽุฒูŠุฏ ุจูู‡ู ู…ูŽู†ุงู„ุงู‹ ูˆูŽุงูุนุชูุฌุงุจุง

47. He is the axis around whom the stars of fortune turned
Never fearing disturbance or dislocation

ูคูง. ู‡ููˆูŽ ุงู„ู‚ูุทุจ ุงู„ู‘ูŽุฐูŠ ุฏุงุฑูŽุช ุนูŽู„ูŽูŠู‡ู
ู†ูุฌูˆู… ุงู„ุณูŽุนุฏ ู„ุง ุชูŽุฎุดู‰ ุงูุถุทูุฑุงุจุง

48. His sons are his stars, and the moon amongst them
The crown prince, of superlative merit

ูคูจ. ุจูŽู†ูˆู‡ ู†ูุฌูˆู…ูู‡ู ูˆูŽุงู„ุจูŽุฏุฑ ููŠู‡ู…
ูˆูŽู„ูŠู‘ ุงู„ุนูŽู‡ุฏ ู…ูŽู† ุจูุงู„ููŽุถู„ ุญุงุจู‰

49. Abu Ya`qub our master, the hoped for
To drive away fears should they draw near

ูคูฉ. ุฃูŽุจูˆ ูŠูŽุนู‚ูˆุจ ู…ูŽูˆู„ุงู†ุง ุงู„ู…ูุฑุฌู‘ู‰
ู„ูุฏูŽูุน ุงู„ุฎุทุจ ุฅูู† ุฃูŽุฑุณู‰ ูˆูŽู†ุงุจุง

50. He is the king who gave generously and satisfied
And made the taste of life pleasant

ูฅู . ู‡ููˆูŽ ุงู„ู…ูŽู„ูƒู ุงู„ู‘ูŽุฐูŠ ุฃูŽุนุทู‰ ูˆูŽุฃูŽู‚ู†ู‰
ูˆูŽุตูŽูŠู‘ุฑ ุทูŽุนู… ุนูŽูŠุดู ู…ูุณุชูŽุทุงุจุง

51. And the sons of the emirate aspire to him
And the descendants of nobility rallied around him

ูฅูก. ูˆูŽุฃูŽุจู†ุงุก ุงู„ุฅูู…ุงุฑุฉ ุชูŽุฑุชูŽุฌูŠู‡ู…
ูˆูŽุฃูŽุญูุงุฏ ุงู„ุนูู„ุง ุงูุนุชูŽุตูŽุจูˆุง ุงูุนุชูุตุงุจุง

52. I fulfilled their right, one by one,
As they made jihad an obligation upon themselves

ูฅูข. ุฃููˆูู‘ูŠ ุญูŽู‚ู‘ู‡ู… ููŽุฑุฏุงู‹ ููŽููŽุฑุฏุงู‹
ูƒูŽู…ุง ุฌูŽุนูŽู„ูˆุง ุงู„ุฌูู‡ุงุฏ ู„ูŽู‡ูู… ู†ูุตุงุจุง

53. And I mention the raid of this year, that
I may remind each person what befell

ูฅูฃ. ูˆุฃุฐูƒูุฑ ุบูŽุฒูˆูŽ ู‡ูŽุฐุง ุงู„ุนุงู… ุญูŽุชู‘ู‰
ุฃุฐูƒู‘ุฑู ูƒูู„ู‘ ุดูŽุฎุตู ู…ุง ุฃูŽุตุงุจุง

54. And propagate the pride of Marin broadly
As they assembled for their religion in factions

ูฅูค. ูˆูŽุฃูŽู†ุดูุฑ ู…ูู† ููŽุฎุงุฑ ู…ูŽุฑููŠู†ูŽ ุจูุฑุฏุงู‹
ูƒูŽู…ุง ุงูุญุชูŽุฒูŽุจูˆุง ู„ูุฏูŠู†ู‡ู…ู ุงูุญุชูุฒุงุจุง

55. And I quench in time a poem on their praise
I will record it and place it in the book

ูฅูฅ. ูˆูŽุฃูŽุฑูˆูŠ ู…ูŽุฏุญูŽู‡ูู… ููŠ ุงู„ุฏูŽู‡ุฑ ุดุนุฑุงู‹
ุฃูุฏูŽูˆู‘ู†ู‡ ูˆูŽุฃูˆุฏูุนูู‡ ุงู„ูƒูุชุงุจุง

56. So their mention remains in the land recited
