The swift arrows of fate

That I may heal my sickness

4. The days of union made unlawful
While separation not unlawful

5. May God not torment my heart
Except with excessive passion

6. As if that life
Were but a dream

7. Of the expected one
Naught remains for fate's events

8. Except the son of Ahmed, tall of stature and mighty hands
Sufficient is he, most generous

9. Than rainclouds' downpour
He meets the destitute with his face

10. Elated with joy
Revered is he whom we expect

11. For the greatest calamities
He casts troubles with wisdom

12. Sharper than an Indian sword
He has firm resolutions

13. Keener than a sword's edge
