1. A quarter I knew so well
Was a square for the white birds and a summer resort

2. The seasons changed its beautiful scenery
And took away its beauty so smoothly

3. Whenever we passed by, we stopped
And lingered longingly, stopping over

4. I grew so used to crying there as if
I had never indulged in frivolities there before

5. Envying the eyelids when they removed
With their overflowing tears there

6. Jacob did benefit and become wealthy
And brought back moisture and enriched the poor

7. I have a sword of insight and opinion
So enrich it by sheathing swords

8. Sacrificing himself for the noble, plunging into death
Repelling harm and facing ranks

9. Advising, caring, loving and affectionate
Standing firm in His approval, hardly stubborn

10. He does not fear corruption in a matter he takes on
And gives his opinion enveloped

11. Whenever we saw him, we saw
Pure morals and noble deeds

12. And we saw a great, prestigious elder
Gracious, guiding, compassionate and kind

13. Sweet is the taste of his generosity, and when he comes
And gives, the plenty seems paltry

14. He has been generously created since he was
Delighting in dew and hosting guests

15. Sheltering the poor with generosity and kindness
Giving and aiding the anguished

16. So God made the seasons always
Turn away from his courtyard smoothly
