1. If God opposes the people of oppression and weakness
Then He opposes the tribe of Al-Ajlan, the folks of Ibn Muqbil

2. A tribe who never betray a covenant
Nor oppress people even an iota

3. They only return to water in the evening
When the water-bearers have left every spring

4. Wild dogs refrain from their meat
And eat of Ka'b, 'Awf and Nahshali

5. Al-Ajlan were named so only because he said
Take the udder and milk, O slave, and be quick

6. They are the brothers of the accursed one and family of
The vile one, and followers of the disgraced submissive one
