1. Mu'awiya, if you come to us
With a green army whose rustling is like thunder,

2. Their tongues sharpened with the blood of men,
When the horses charge foaming at the mouth,

3. And their warriors are like roaring lions
Eager for battle and death,

4. With no thought of stopping before the spectre of death,
With no hesitation in the face of peril,

5. Concerned only with the overwhelming encounter,
As their long swords demand,

6. Their swords reach out before them,
Their arms never faltering,

7. And you have reports confirming this,
As their charging has made plain,

8. Then we shall smite them with shining swords
Whose blows fall like crashing lightning.
