1. I wish I knew what tidings these rumors bear
Each time I turn my thoughts their way
١. لَيْتَ شِعْرِي والأَمانِي تَخْطُرُ
هَذِهِ الأنْبَاءُ عَمّا تُسْفِرُ
2. The source in them obstructs the stream
Yet I hope for success in all I do and fail to do
٢. كُلَّما وَجَّهْتُ فِكْري نَحْوَها
عَارَضَ المْورِدَ فيها المصْدَرُ
